IT HR Forum 2010 - Web 2.0 HR Strategies

The purpose of the IT Sector Council of PEI's IT HR Forum Series is to provide an opportunity for IT sector stakeholders to gather and share Labour Market Intelligence and/or Human Resources information to enable the industry to be more effective and responsive. The theme of the 2010 IT HR Forum is Web 2.0 HR Strategies.
The year's forum will highlight:
1. Utilizing Social Media for HR Recruitment and Employee Engagement Maureen Kerr ~ Virtual Marketing Consultant ~ Kerr Consulting
Many employers are using social media networks to recruit and weed through applicants for job positions or are typing in a prospective employees name into Google to find out more about them. Social networks can also have an impact on employee engagement, and more and more organizations now use it to increase involvement and commitment among workers.

2. On-Line HR Tools & Resources

ICTC's On-Line HR Tools & Resources will assist employers with their HR needs including assessing your skills inventory, writing accurate job descriptions and developing interview guides for hiring new staff. These valuable tools will assist IT workers to accelerate their career paths by identifying future career options, as well as skills gaps.
