PEI Virtual IT Job Fair - June 2nd - June 5th

The IT Sector Council and the the PEI Population Secretariat are collaborating to offer the first PEI Virtual IT Job Fair from June 2 - 5, 2009. This fair is open to all PEI employers recruiting IT employees between May 1 and August 31, 2009. It is of particular interest to employers who are encountering difficulty recruiting 'hard-to-find' local candidates. The virtual job fair will be targeting IT recruits identified by the PEI Population Secretariat at the recent National Job Fair in Toronto (April 31 - March 1, 2009). The number and caliber of highly skilled and experienced IT workers who registered with the PEI team was high, and these candidates are anxious to explore IT opportunities on PEI.
The Process -
- If you wish to participate, please send a job description in pdf format for EACH job, clearly indicating the number of positions/job, to gillis@itsc.ca by NOON, FRIDAY, MAY 8TH.
- The screening committee will pre-screen job applicants (May 11th) from across Canada to see if there is a recruit that meets your requirements.
- The committee will contact you with the 'matches' we identify.
- If you approve, the committee will approach the candidate(s) and set-up a brief pre-screening meeting over the net via a Skype or MSN Messenger between June 2 - 5, 2009.
- Following the on-line meeting, you may pursue the candidate(s) further if you wish.
- If you require access to a Skype or MSN Messenger enabled workstation, we can facilitate you at the PEI Population Secretariat office (2nd floor of the Atlantic Technology Centre, Charlottetown).
- If you require assistance any assistance in the recruitment process, ITSC and the the staff from the PEI Population Secretariat will be available for consultation.
